India’s Tata Motors drives into Poland
Tata Motors, the manufacturer of Nano, the recently launched smallest car in the world and owner of British Jaguar, plans to win the hearts of Polish motorists with its three models, Tata TL pick-up, Tata Safari SUV and the Indian best-seller compact Tata Indica. Tatas car will be sold via a Japanese dealer chain Marubeni Motors, the main distributor of Nissan cars on the Polish market since 2005. In the initial phase, Tata cars will be on offer in 30 Marubeni car salons in Poland. The company believes it should sell 300 vehicles a month. The sales plans seem to be over ambitious, considering the fact that Poland is a hard market for new cars, let alone a new brand little known to the Polish consumer, writes The Wall Street Journal Polska.
